"Don't just stand there, read something."
Ideas are cheap but valuable. This is the place where I try to share the wealth and give folks something to think about.

Featured posts are found here. If a post is featured, it simply means that, at the moment, I think it's pretty damned insightful. Understandably, it will change over time. Thanks for stopping by.
I am 70, was born in Michigan and currently live in Iowa. My life to this point has been quite unremarkable. I don't anticipate any major change in that respect over the time I have left.
I grew up in a working class family that experienced few of the upheavals (divorce, untimely death, life-threatening accident) so common these days. We were well loved and cared for to the standard of the day. I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic schools through high school but didn't experience any trauma there, either.
When I was a young adult, I deeply felt that I was elite in terms of intelligence and destined for unimaginably great things. To my consternation, I discovered that the first assessment was erroneous and, as might be expected, the second expectation never materialized. I strongly suspect the lack of any direction, internal drive or desire, combined with inbred fear, have much to do with that outcome.
At this point, I write because I think things I do not see widely discussed. I am fully aware there may be good reasons for that but figure, at this point, why not?
Not my video! This is something I've recently found that I think might be valuable to you. I try to keep the length of videos I choose to less than 10 minutes. This one is a bit over 8 minutes long. It is just a series of remembered quotes and can seem a bit preachy after a bit and gets a little repetitive. If, however, you find one inspiring nuggest, my work here is done.
Enjoy.
